A Japanese legend director, Imamura Shohei, a two-time Cannne Palm d’or winner whom Martin Scorsese called “my master,” <\/em>created this black and white film based on a novel by Ibuse Masuji. The film draws aftermath of the Hiroshima atomic bomb and the life of Yasuko and her family’s struggle caused by the fall of radioactive “black rain.”<\/p>\n

The film was shot in Bizen city, Okayama prefecture.<\/p>\n

This special screening will be on 16mm vista-size (wide-screen) presented by Imamura Production.<\/p>\n
