Another, sleepless, sends a letter from a labour camp to his wife in Kenya. A sand storm hits a construction site, and the locals hold a strange dance ceremony.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/unoportartfilms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1332\" title=\"05\" src=\"http:\/\/unoportartfilms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/05-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a>Dubai, usually seen either as miracle of development or failed gimmick, here becomes a set for a visual exploration of displacement, longing and desire. In three chapters the city, the surrounding desert and their inhabitants slowly uncover some of the darker aspects of contemporary society, while the ongoing economic meltdown spells the end of an era.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1322\" title=\"DIRECTOR PORTRAIT\" src=\"http:\/\/unoportartfilms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/DIRECTOR-PORTRAIT-203x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"203\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bio: Sr\u0111an Ke\u010da<\/p>\n<p>After leaving a career in theoretical physics to pursue his passion for the screen, Sr\u0111an Ke\u010da studied at the Ateliers Varan, founded by Jean Rouch. His graduating film After the War, a contemplative observation shot over 8 months in the mountains of Kosovo, was shown in 35 film festivals across Europe and won 5 awards.<br \/>\nMaking it a mission to help change the film and media landscape in his native Serbia, he co-founded and between 2005 and 2008 ran the Centre for Documentary Film in Belgrade, after which he programmed the Free Zone Belgrade Film Festival. His credits as cinematographer and producer include several award-winning titles picked up by broadcasters such as PBS, Channel 4 and YLE, and festivals such as IDFA, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and Sarajevo Film Festival.
