Fiction<\/p>\nThe first feature film by American-raised Taiwanese filmmaker Arvin Chen.<\/p>\nKai, a lovesick young man, wants to leave Taipei in hopes of getting to Paris to be with his girlfriend. He spends long nights in a bookstore studying French, where Susie, a girl who works there, begins to take an interest in him. After one extraordinary night, Kai discovers that the excitement and romance he was longing for are already right there in Taipei.<\/p>\n<\/a>Winner of the NETPAC Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival 2010. Chen won the 2007 Silver Bear in Berlin\u2019s International Short Film Competition with his first short film \u201cMei\u201d and was discovered by Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas, Buena Vista Social Club). It is a romantic comedy that casts a gentle cinematic light on the little people in a big city, reminiscent of the 80s indie film classics of Jim Jarmusch, and of course, Wim Wenders.
